Uros Island

After a beautiful motor boat journey of 30 minutes amongst the reed, we arrive to Uros, an archipelago of more than 60 manmade floating islands inhabited by the Uros, an ethnic group of fishermen, part of an ancestral group. Guided tour to 2 or 3 islands, explore the surroundings on an authentic reed raft and return to Puno.

Sillustani Tombs

Sillustani was an ancient Necropolis and citadel, surrounded by the Lake Uyumayo, there we can observe large pre incan and Incan funerary towers, called Chulpas, in a spectacular natural landscape. You can contemplate the degree of perfection and stone work of pre incan architecture.

Full Day Taquile Island

Transfer to the port to board the motor boat. On the way, we visit two floating islands, inhabited by the legendary Uros, fishermen who have made the use of totora reeds a way of life. After a pleasant boat ride, we arrive at Taquile island, slowly we ascend to the town in a gentle hike that takes about 50 minutes. There we observe a native community that conserves ancestral traditions. Its people are skilled weavers. Local lunch at a restaurant (not included). Normally you go down by the west side of the island on a staircase of 500 steps, enjoying spectacular views.
You need: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and waterproof jacket.

Taquile Overnight

Day 1: Uros- Taquile

Similar to Full Day Taquile. After luch, the group is accommodated in lodging houses. In the afternoon walk for 1 h 30 min to the top of the island to visit the pre inca ruins of Hanan Kari and admire the sunset. Dinner.

Day 2: Taquile Puno

After beakfast, walk to Urin Kari, pre inca ruins with spectacular landscapes. Return to Puno

Amantani Homestay

Day 1: Uros-Amantani

Transfer to the port to board the motor boat. On the way, we visit two floating islands, inhabited by the legendary Uros, fishermen who have made the use of totora reeds a way of life. After 3 hours of by motor boat, we arrive at Amantani Island. Our group gets broken into smaller groups for overnight stays with native families. Typical lunch prepared by each host family. In the afternoon a 2 hour hike will take us to one of the two peaks of the island (4120 masl). Visit to the temple of Pacha Mama or Pacha Tata, ancient rituals sites that hold cryptic old messages. Enjoy the sunset over the Lake Titicaca. Native dinner and party with local families.

Day 2: Amantani-Taquile-Puno

After breakfast we say goodbye to our host families and navigate for one hour to the island of Taquile, where a 1 hour hike lead us to the main square. Explore the surroundings, visit the handcrafts cooperative, then lunch at local restaurant (not included). We return to Puno, after descending a staircase of 500 steps, arriving at Puno at 4 pm.
